I painted this picture earlier in the year. Bluebells help raise my spirits when they flower for just that short time from mid-April until late May.
Almost half the world’s bluebells is found in the UK, they’re relatively rare in the rest of the world. Perhaps that’s what makes the spectacular sight of them so special. In the countryside Bluebells have many other names – from wild hyacinth to witches thimbles, lady’s nightcap and fairy flower.
And did you know it’s against the law to intentionally pick, uproot or destroy bluebells?
